A Mobile Network Code (MNC) is a two- or three-digit identifier that identifies a user’s home Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN). The national regulatory body assigns MNCs.
The Home Network Identity is calculated by combining an MNC with the Mobile country code (HNI).
When a mobile device is linked to a network, the Mobile Network code is used to uniquely identify the user’s home public land mobile network on the device’s display.
